Adolescence is explored as a time of both promise and confusion, filled with rare clarity and moments of disorientation, intense energy, and inertia. In this performance, four young artists—Areski, Guilain, Victor, and Adèle—discuss what preoccupies them most: sex, music, and friendship. They each play an instrument (violin, bassoon, trombone, and piano) while Séverine Chavrier, both a director and musician, listens attentively to their music, moods, hopes, concerns, joys, and sorrows. The piece also integrates video, using smartphones as an extension of the hand, a symbol of a generation’s communication. Drawing on collaborative research in music and improvisation, Chavrier’s creation captures the intensity of adolescence, where desire and exploration are shaped in a world full of endless possibilities.
