New Exhibits at Halle Nord

Halle Nord is showcasing three new exhibitions: “Pas-châssés” by Yann Stéphane Bisso, “Untitled” by Akiyoshi Deschenaux, and “Marica” by Anouk Chambaz. The opening event provides an opportunity to meet the artists and the new director, Elise Lammer. The displays can be viewed continuously from the Halles de l’Île passage.

MULTIPLES is a group exhibition showcasing the works of renowned artists such as Carl Andre, Francis Baudevin, Daniel Buren, Franz Gertsch, Douglas Gordon, Alex Hanimann, Thomas Huber, Alain Huck, Jasper Johns, Ulrich Meister, Claudio Moser, Markus Raetz, and Lawrence Weiner.

25 March – 15 June

A photographic installation in Parc des Bastions celebrates the dramatic relocation of animals from the Natural History Museum in Bastions to Malagnou in 1965. Organized by the Museum and the Geneva Library, this exhibition provides a deep dive into the Museum’s former home, showcasing images of the transfer of various specimens.

12 October 2024 – 21 June 2025

Comics and taxidermied animals take center stage in the “Dialogues Insolites” exhibition at the Multi, located on the ground floor of the Cité Library, from October 12 to June 21, 2025. Students from the School of Comics and Illustration have created 15 comic stories featuring animals, while the Natural History Museum has lent local and regional specimens, including the dodo from Mauritius.

The Xippas Gallery presents “Forever in Motion,” a group exhibition featuring renowned contemporary artists like Joseph Cornell, Ólafur Elíasson, Philippe Hiquily, Robert Irwin, Tony Oursler, Steven Parrino, Jesús Rafael Soto, Takis, and Jean Tinguely. These artists, spanning different generations and artistic movements, delve into the theme of movement in various forms—mechanical, optical, conceptual, and metaphysical. Through kinetic structures and immersive environments, the exhibition blurs the lines between stillness and dynamism, presence and illusion, redefining our experience of art and space.
