This year, the young performers from La Manufacture’s bachelor’s program in contemporary dance are under the guidance of Mark Lorimer, Stavroula Siamou, and Sophia Rodrìguez. They will showcase pieces including “Unison …but off” by Mark Lorimer, “Monsters / shifting inner geographies” by Stavroula Siamou, and “WRDS M F N T S S” by Sophia Rodrìguez.
The Association AVETIS and UNESCO present “Mozart for Peace”, an event that beautifully combines Mozart’s Requiem with an opera gala. The Orchestra della Magna Grecia and the vocal ensemble Musikairos, led by conductor John Axelrod, will accompany soloists Barbara Frittoli, Erwin Schrott, Varduhi Khachatryan, and Migran Agadzhanyan. The program includes the Requiem along with famous overtures, arias, and duets from Mozart’s operas such as “La Clemenza di Tito”, “Idomeneo”, “The Marriage of Figaro”, and “Don Giovanni”.
“Le Bracelet” is a comedy by Isabelle Mergault, directed by Serge Postigo, starring Isabelle Mergault, Yvan Le Bolloc’h, Annick Blancheteau, Jean-Louis Barcelona, and Ninon Moreau. After 18 years in prison, André returns home wearing an electronic bracelet. However, his homecoming is far from warm—his wife can’t stand his presence, his mother-in-law is overbearing, and his 20-year-old daughter, whom he hasn’t seen grow up, refuses to call him “dad.” As André questions his guilt or innocence, a mysterious handyman appears at just the right moment, adding to the intrigue. With no intermission, this comedy promises to keep you guessing and laughing.
In La Tempête ou la Voix du Vent, Shakespeare’s tale unfolds with a storm that shipwrecks King Alonso and his son Ferdinand on a mystical island inhabited by the monstrous Caliban and the ethereal Ariel. Prospero, a sorcerer and exiled Duke of Milan, plots revenge while orchestrating Ferdinand’s love for his daughter Miranda. Through reality and fantasy, malice and drama, Shakespeare’s final play offers both magic and truth. Director Omar Porras brings a fresh perspective, channeling its elemental and theatrical power in a profound, unexpected union.

As its grand finale, POCHE/GVE presents “Villa Dolorosa” by Rebekka Kricheldorf, directed by Manon Krüttli. This witty and sharp adaptation of Chekhov follows Irina, Olga, Masha, and Andrei as they navigate their aspirations and privileges amidst a melancholy-laced daily life. The characters voice their professional and personal uncertainties with biting humor, all while indulging in plenty of vodka. Through their familiar complaints and monologues, they unravel their privileges, possibly for the very last time.

A musical show at the Théâtre de la Parfumerie in Geneva pays tribute to Patti Smith, the rock icon. Directed by Martine Corbat and drawing from the writings of Claudine Galea, the performance delves into Patti’s life and influence through heartfelt and poetic storytelling. Featuring Maud Faucherre, Pierre Omer, and Julien Israelian, this celebration of sisterhood combines music, poetry, and memories to honor the legendary rock poetess.
