Festival VIVA | LET THEM COOK!

VIVA is a performing arts festival in Geneva specifically designed for young people aged 12 to 20. Hosted at venues including the Comédie de Genève, the Théâtre Am Stram Gram, and the Pavillon ADC, the festival is a collaborative effort by various Geneva-based institutions. It offers a range of free performances from dance, theater, and music, while also providing youth with the chance to explore the behind-the-scenes world of artistic professions.

A highlight of the festival is the show “LET THEM COOK!” by the André-Chavanne CEC theater workshop. This performance delves into the dynamics between adults and youth through a blend of writing, improvisation, and music.

As its grand finale, POCHE/GVE presents “Villa Dolorosa” by Rebekka Kricheldorf, directed by Manon Krüttli. This witty and sharp adaptation of Chekhov follows Irina, Olga, Masha, and Andrei as they navigate their aspirations and privileges amidst a melancholy-laced daily life. The characters voice their professional and personal uncertainties with biting humor, all while indulging in plenty of vodka. Through their familiar complaints and monologues, they unravel their privileges, possibly for the very last time.

Marine Leonardi takes a sharp, darkly humorous look at the frustrations of daily life, from relationships to motherhood, delivering a liberating show that will leave you thinking, “I never dared to say that!”. Known for her cynical take on everyday annoyances, she brings her unique voice to the stage with a mix of wit and irreverence. A regular performer at top comedy venues like the Paname Art Café and Point Virgule, and a member of the Jamel Comedy Club troupe, you can also catch her on Rire & Chansons.

Wednesday 2 April, 20:00

The Association AVETIS and UNESCO present “Mozart for Peace”, an event that beautifully combines Mozart’s Requiem with an opera gala. The Orchestra della Magna Grecia and the vocal ensemble Musikairos, led by conductor John Axelrod, will accompany soloists Barbara Frittoli, Erwin Schrott, Varduhi Khachatryan, and Migran Agadzhanyan. The program includes the Requiem along with famous overtures, arias, and duets from Mozart’s operas such as “La Clemenza di Tito”, “Idomeneo”, “The Marriage of Figaro”, and “Don Giovanni”.

The Duo of the Touche Noire Collective takes the audience on a unique investigation: What is Solitude?

You will join them on a journey through multiple forms of solitude; a voyage through interviews, texts, songs, life scenes, imagined scenes, laughter, and lightness. Each evening will result in the creation of a new landscape in which everyone can recognize themselves.
