Alexandrine Maviel Sonet – The Amazing Story of Van Cleef & Arpels

Founded in 1906 at 22 Place Vendôme in Paris, Van Cleef & Arpels emerged from the marriage of Estelle Arpels and Alfred Van Cleef. The High Jewelry House has been inspired by nature, fashion, dance, and imaginary worlds, maintaining a style imbued with poetry.

Nearly 50 years after the creation of its Heritage Collection, Van Cleef & Arpels has published a definitive work on the subject. Released in 2024, the first volume of La Collection Van Cleef & Arpels (1906-1953) explores the House’s early years through nearly 700 pieces created during this period, carefully examined within the historical, artistic, and cultural context of their creation. Alexandrine Maviel Sonet, Director of Heritage and Exhibitions, will share the fascinating history of this exceptional company.
