Victoria Hall is a prominent concert hall housed in a majestic neoclassical building. This historic venue is celebrated for its exceptional acoustics, making it a favored destination for music enthusiasts. While occasionally featuring other musical genres, Victoria Hall remains predominantly dedicated to the world of classical music.
Two professional ensembles will perform Michael Haydn’s Missa Hispanica and Mozart’s Requiem, conducted by Jean Gautier-Pignonblanc and Sergey Ostrovsky, respectively.
Immerse yourself in the world of Mozart with the “Coronation Mass” and “Clarinet Quintet” performed by the Quatuor Terpsycordes, the Concertus Geneva Orchestra, and the Ensemble Vocal Orphée de Genève. Under the baton of Matthieu Schweyer, the performance features soloists Karine Mkrtchyan, Juliette Galstian, Gilles Bersier, and Claude Darbellay. Experience the refined elegance of Mozart elevated by Damien Bachmann’s clarinet and the exceptional artistry of the performers.
OSR performs Wagner and Mendelssohn, conducted by Pablo Heras-Casado, featuring Alexei Volodin in Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 1. The program features works by Richard Wagner, Franz Liszt, and Felix Mendelssohn. On the lineup: the Prelude and Good Friday Enchantment from Wagner’s “Parsifal” Liszt’s “Piano Concerto No. 1” in E-flat major, and Mendelssohn’s “Symphony No. 5”, known as the “Reformation,” all subtly connected through the mystical chords of the “Dresden Amen.”
The AMAA Symphony Orchestra, led by conductor Luc Baghdassarian and featuring pianist Kaoruko Igarashi, winner of the 2022 Geneva Competition, will perform at Victoria Hall. The program includes Giacomo Puccini’s “Intermezzo,” Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3, and his Symphony No. 5 in C minor.
The Peace Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of Nikolay Khozyainov, will perform works by Mozart and Haydn in Geneva, featuring the local clarinetist Adrien Philipp. This concert showcases emotionally rich compositions and embodies the orchestra’s mission to unite people through music while promoting peace and harmony.
The Ensemble Vocal and Orphée Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Matthieu Schweyer, perform Fauré’s renowned Requiem alongside Saint-Saëns’ exquisite yet lesser-known Requiem. The concert features Diego Innocenzi on the organ, with soloists Clémence Tilquin (soprano), Mi-Young Kim (mezzo-soprano), José Pazos (tenor), and Seong-Ho Han (bass).
