This chess workshop, led by experienced instructors and international masters, offers tailored lessons for different age groups and skill levels. Young players will learn the basics, discover tactical combinations, and develop strategic thinking, while advanced participants will refine their skills. Each child receives a personalized exercise book to track progress and continue learning at home. The program concludes with a friendly competition, with the winner taking home the “Société de Lecture” trophy. The workshop promotes memory, concentration, patience, and fair play.

VIVA is a performing arts festival in Geneva specifically designed for young people aged 12 to 20. Hosted at venues including the Comédie de Genève, the Théâtre Am Stram Gram, and the Pavillon ADC, the festival is a collaborative effort by various Geneva-based institutions. It offers a range of free performances from dance, theater, and music, while also providing youth with the chance to explore the behind-the-scenes world of artistic professions.

At the Théâtre Am Stram Gram, the exhibition “Au Milieu de la Tempête d’école” showcases photographs and testimonies from ACCES II students, resulting from a workshop led by Ariane Catton. The students express their feelings about their school environment, highlighting their experiences with solitude and challenges in integration.

Les Maladroits bring to life “Subjectif Lune,” a theatrical reenactment of the Apollo 11 mission aimed at debunking conspiracy theories at Théâtre Forum Meyrin. With the use of cameras, unusual objects, and handcrafted special effects, the four artists ingeniously recreate the lunar achievement, blending archival footage with live performance. This production, suitable for adults and teenagers aged 12 and up, creatively explores the creation of images and its impact on our perception, delivering a captivating theatrical journey.

A celebrated Quebecois success at the VIVA! festival, “Le poids des fourmis” is a sharp political comedy about activism, featuring teenagers grappling with power abuse. As part of the “Future Week,” Jeanne and Olivier must take part in a school election, humorously and accurately expressing their fears and hopes. VIVA is a performing arts festival designed for young people aged 12 to 20, organized by Comédie de Genève, Théâtre Am Stram Gram, and Pavillon ADC. It offers free performances, explores careers in theater, and showcases artistic creations by young talents.

Europe’s largest digital aquarium offers an immersive, fun, and educational experience that brings the ocean to life. Featuring marine life from sea turtles and dolphins to vibrant coral reefs and fish, the exhibition combines traditional art with cutting-edge technology for a captivating experience. The 40-minute show is just the beginning—visitors can design their own underwater creatures using provided templates, and with special interactive technology, their drawings are scanned and brought to life in the live aquarium. The event includes readings, a nighttime stroll, and an acoustic lecture, making it a family-friendly experience.

La Nuit est Belle ! is an annual event in the Greater Geneva region that encourages municipalities, businesses, and residents to turn off excessive artificial lighting in order to raise awareness about light pollution.
