“Tuning in – The Acoustics of Emotion” is an exhibition that delves into the connections between sound, voice, heritage, and humanitarian action. Utilizing sound archives and collections from the International Committee of the Red Cross, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and the International Museum of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, the exhibition explores which voices we preserve, their significance, and the role of music in humanitarian efforts. It features soundtracks, historical recordings, posters, photographs, prisoners’ objects, and artworks both historical and contemporary.

This collective exhibit curated by Marie Maertens explores the multifaceted symbolism of water as both a serene and tumultuous force. It evokes idyllic visions of travel and connection, yet also embodies destruction and the poignant weight of forced departures. Water, as a source of life and emotion, intertwines dreams and despair, summer joy, and the intimate bonds it nurtures. Its fluidity mirrors human experiences, flowing through memory, loss, and desire, resonating with the deepest layers of our existence. Through this poetic and evocative lens, the exhibit becomes a testament to water’s role as a mirror of our emotions and histories.
3 June 2024 – 1 June 2025

In collaboration with the Photo Elysée Museum, the “Dialogues On Humanity” exhibition explores how photography can deepen our understanding of humanitarian principles. Through five themed sections, the images encourage reflection on global crises and the significance of humanitarian efforts. Each set of photographs is paired with questions to stimulate dialogue and invite visitors to share their reactions. This project is a joint effort by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, the Photo Elysée Museum, and the International Committee of the Red Cross.

On the first Thursday of every month, the MAH hosts a pop-up event at GamMAH dedicated to graphic arts, offering visitors the chance to explore rare prints and drawings from the collection. An art historian is available to welcome and guide guests. In conjunction with the “Michel Grillet: Memory of Landscape” exhibition, works by three Swiss artists are showcased: Balthazar Burkhard, Alexandre Calame, and Markus Raetz.

The Forum Meyrin has reopened its galleries, showcasing contemporary artists. Ligia Dias, the first guest artist of the season, has created a monumental piece titled “Inverted Pyramid.” This unique creation, developed with the participation of Meyrin’s residents, incorporates various objects brought in during her residency. A series of meetings and mediations offer insight into the making of this distinctive work.

Marie de Villepin presents “Le jardin retrouvé,” an exhibition that delves into memory and resilience through works symbolizing an almost vanished yet enduring garden. Each painting seeks to restore memories and reconcile with a fragmented past, highlighting the struggle against forgetting. The artist transforms ruins into testimonies of humanity, emphasizing the rebirth of a world in constant flux.
